¿Qué es la canibalización de canales?


También conocida como conflicto de canales o efecto de sustitución, la canibalización de canales ocurre cuando un nuevo canal de distribución o ventas atrae involuntariamente a los clientes de tus canales existentes. En lugar de expandir tu alcance, terminas trasladando a los mismos clientes; a menudo a costa de tus ingresos, márgenes o consistencia de marca.


Ejemplo:
Si tu negocio comienza a vender productos en un mercado de terceros mientras sigue operando directamente al consumidor a través de tu sitio web, algunos clientes pueden cambiarse al tercero por conveniencia o precio, reduciendo así el tráfico y la rentabilidad en tu canal principal.

¿Por qué sucede la canibalización de canales?
